FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
How Do Carbonzero Vehicle Offsets Work?
Carbonzero first calculated the carbon output from three different vehicle styles, small, medium and large. Through our four programs the appropriate amount of carbon is either absorbed through a carbon sequestration project or prevented from entering the atmosphere. Our offsets are a means of balancing your vehicles emissions, effectively neutralizing your vehicles carbon output.
Is Carbonzero independently verified?
Carobonzero is in the initial stages of obtaining an official third party verification. However, Carobonzero is committed to providing open honest and verifiable offsets to our clients. If you have any questions about our offsets please feel free to contact us.
Can Carbon Offsets Replace Conservation?
No. Carbon offsets are a tool used to help neutralize the effects of greenhouse gasses that are associated with everyday life. Conservation and conscious actions are the most effective way to combat the effects of global climate change and lead a sustainable lifestyle. However since it is sometimes impossible to reduce all of your emissions, purchasing offsets can balance out the remainder of your carbon output.
What Happens When I Buy a Carbonzero Offset?
When you purchase one of our offsets your money goes towards administering our four carbon sequestration and prevention projects. The revenue from the offsets purchases trees, light bulbs, credits from the Chicago Climate Exchange and green energy blocks from LPEA.
What is a Carbon Offset?
A carbon offset is the representation of the reduction of one metric ton of carbon dioxide emissions. Offsets are simply a method to fund projects that reduce or prevent CO2 from being emitted. The tonnage value of the offset represents to the tonnage of the carbon emissions sequestered or prevented.
How is Carbonzero different from other Offset Companies?
Carbonzero is different from other offset companies in that all of the offset programs are locally focused. Our company is based in Durango Colorado and all of our programs are implemented in Southwestern Colorado.
